CMS Beyond Fifty

Gifts that Make a Difference

The Anniversary Campaign will empower the members of The College Music Society to lead and be a model for music and higher education in the 21st century. With your help, CMS can:

  • support innovation and creativity in engagement and instruction

  • help train, support, and inspire current students and the next generation of faculty

  • provide for enriched cultural life on campus

The College Music Society has achieved a worldwide reputation and distinction in engagement and outreach, both on and off campus. Its preeminence developed over the years through the contributions of time and energy by thousands of dedicated members and friends. The generosity of these farsighted individuals has always been the hallmark of the Society's success. Through the Anniversary Campaign, contributors can now insure that innovation and creativity will remain part of music and higher education.

All gifts will be used to support innovative approaches to engagement and outreach (1) on campus and off campus and (2) within undergraduate and graduate curricula. No gift is too small. All contributions will be applied to specific programs. You may designate your gift to be used for community engagement and outreach, for on-campus Music in General Studies at the undergraduate and graduate levels, or by the Anniversary Campaign where the current need is greatest.

Creative Ways to Give

  • A gift of $1,000 will cover the costs of four innovative community engagement programs by music faculty.

  • A gift of $50 can be pooled with others earmarked for on-campus innovation to award creative approaches in an undergraduate classroom.

  • A gift of $250 can fund a series of concerts in a retirement community.

  • A leadership gift of $5,000 or more can establish an endowed fund that will generate an award in perpetuity.

To consider making a gift other than in cash, please visit the Ways to Give page.
