CMS Beyond Fifty

THE CMS TECHNOLOGY INITIATIVE AWARD ENDOWMENT

The College Music Society has a longstanding commitment to supporting technology training and encouraging forums for sharing the integration of technology with music instruction and performance. The CMS Music Technology Initiative Award is being established to provide an annual award to an active CMS member who has demonstrated exceptional initiative in integrating technology in college music instruction, preparing students to share their musicianship with a global community that is increasingly dependent on technology, and providing a model of effective practice to education, industry, and the public at large.

An endowment has been created through The CMS Fund to support this annual technology award as part of the CMS Anniversary Campaign. Through matching donations from corporate and CMS members, some $8000 toward the endowment has been raised to date. The current campaign goal is "50 for $100" to raise another $5000 to fully fund the endowment and contribute to the CMS 50th Anniversary Campaign.

Application information for the first CMS Music Technology Initiative Award will be available when the endowment reaches its funding goal. A self- or peer-nomination process will be followed with applications reviewed by the CMS Instructional Technology and Information Services (ITIS) committee. Details for application and selection will be available from this web page. The annual recipient of the award will receive a cash prize of $500, be recognized at the Annual Meeting of The Society, and present their work at the annual conference.

Please consider giving $100 or more toward to help us meet our "50 for $100" goal! Click here to contribute online or download a pdf contribution form. Consider using your tax-deductible gift to also honor someone important in your life or professional career. The CMS Fund is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
